Apex Golf Club is a ten-bay indoor golf club and bar on Lower Boones Ferry Road in Tigard, in the southwest Portland suburbs. It is a walk-in venue built around Golfzon simulators and a full bar and kitchen, with private bays for groups of up to six. It also sells memberships, runs leagues and offers lessons, so it works for a night out and for a weekly practice habit.
Each of the ten bays is its own space with seating for up to six, a high-top table and personal storage. The Golfzon simulators use high-speed overhead cameras and carry more than 200 courses in 4K, including Pebble Beach and St Andrews. There is a practice range, mini-games, and instant swing analysis on every shot, and clubs are provided at no charge if you do not bring your own.
You can reserve a bay by the hour online or walk in when a bay is open. Apex recommends booking ahead for weekends. Hours are Monday through Thursday 10am to 10pm, Friday and Saturday 10am to 11pm and Sunday 10am to 10pm. Weekend openings can be earlier, so an early Saturday is worth a call first.
The full-service bar pours local craft beers on tap and craft cocktails. The kitchen menu is snacks and shareables, food and drinks are delivered to your bay, and there are multiple TVs for live sports. There is free on-site parking, free Wi-Fi, and a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking, restroom and seating. It is family-friendly and good for kids.
Leagues run seasonally, and the current summer league is a two-person scramble match-play format at $240 per team for the season, with round-robin groups leading to single-elimination finals. Lessons are one-on-one with a Class A LPGA professional who is also head golf coach at Pacific University, using the same Golfzon data as the bays. Private events, from birthdays to corporate holiday parties, can book multiple bays with food and drink, and eGift cards cover bay time, food, drinks and memberships.
