Above Par Golf & Entertainment is a golf shop, fitting studio and two-simulator room on Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown, in Southern Maryland. It covers the equipment side of the game under one roof: simulator rentals, lessons, club fitting for a dozen brands, regrips, repairs and custom sets. A PGA teaching professional and additional instructors are available seven days a week.
The two bays are named for local rivers. The Patuxent simulator is all golf, with a driving range mode, PGA courses such as Pebble Beach, and games like Tic Tac Toe and Angry Golf. Fittings and lessons run on this bay. The Potomac simulator adds multi-sport play: archery, baseball, basketball, football, soccer and shooting alongside golf. Time is booked online.
Fittings cover drivers, woods, hybrids, irons and wedges, with putter and ball fittings on request. Brands on hand include Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Fujikura, Graphite Design, Mizuno, PING, Srixon, Sub 70, TaylorMade and Vice, with several demo shafts per brand. Fittings are billed by the hour, a shorter bag analysis is offered, and fitting fees are credited back against club purchases. Rates change, so confirm current pricing with the venue before you go.
Lessons come one-on-one, in group classes and in youth camps. All of them run on the simulators, so instructors can read swing data and send players home with drills. Juniors are a focus, down to a rewards program that trades school SOAR tickets for bay time. The shop also plans tournaments and runs its own long-standing charity event at a nearby course.
