Big Sticks Indoor Golf is a five-bay practice and instruction studio on Ray Avenue in Burlington, northwest of Boston. It is open to the public with no membership required. It has helped Massachusetts golfers keep their swings sharp through the winter since 2004, and it is run by its founder, PGA professional Terry Felty.
The bays are built for measurement. Each has an aboutGolf simulator paired with Foresight Sports GCQuad and GCHawk launch monitors. JC Video swing analysis adds high-speed cameras, and GSPro software carries more than a thousand courses, from Massachusetts layouts to the famous names. You can practice full swing, short game and putting, play a round, or dial in equipment, all with real-time ball and club data.
Felty is the draw for lessons. He has 30-plus years of coaching and more than 30,000 lessons taught, was named MA Teacher of the Year by the NEPGA, and is listed by Golf Digest among the best teachers in the state. Private, semi-private and group lessons all include video analysis and a written practice plan. An online swing analysis is offered for players who cannot come in. Practice bays are sold by the hour and in a ten-hour pack. Rates change, so confirm current pricing with the venue before you go.
Hours are 10am to 8pm Tuesday through Thursday, 9am to 5pm Friday and 9am to 4pm Saturday, with Sunday and Monday by appointment. The studio adjusts hours for weather, private events and lesson requests, so call first. Wheelchair accessible entrance, parking and restroom.
