Vitense Golfland is a family-owned golf and recreation center on Schroeder Road on Madison’s west side, in business since 1955. Its golf-tech centerpiece is a two-level Toptracer range with 25 Golf Suites, 56 covered and heated hitting bays in all. Around it sit one indoor and two outdoor miniature golf courses, batting cages, and what it calls Wisconsin’s first and only lighted 9-hole course.
The Golf Suites are the Topgolf-style part: private areas of two or three tee bays each, 19 two-bay suites and six three-bay suites. Every one has Toptracer ball tracking and games, overhead heating and cooling fans, seating, free Wi-Fi and wait service from the Babes at Vitense Grill and Bar. Vitense was one of the first five ranges in the country to install Toptracer, back in 2017. Suites can be reserved online for two-hour blocks with buckets included. Reservations are not required to use the Toptracer bays. Rates change, so confirm current pricing with the venue before you go.
The Vitense Golf Academy offers PGA professional lessons, and the property runs golf leagues plus summer volleyball and cornhole leagues. Event spaces and catering packages cover corporate outings, private celebrations and birthday parties for kids and adults. The grill, bar and ice cream are on site.
Hours are 8:30am to 11pm Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 11:30pm Friday, 8am to 11:30pm Saturday and 8am to 10:30pm Sunday. Wheelchair accessible entrance, parking and restroom.
