Golf Simulation and Technology
The facility features six private simulator bays powered by aboutGolf® simulators, the same brand used by the Golf Channel and certified by the PGA Tour for accuracy. Golfers can play over 70 world-class courses—including Pebble Beach, St. Andrews, Teeth of the Dog, and Bethpage Black—as well as fantasy and mini-golf courses that add a creative twist to the game. Each bay is equipped with 3D graphics so realistic that players can see the leaves blowing in the wind, and one bay includes video swing recording for swing analysis.
Bay rentals are priced by the hour (not per person) at $36 per hour, with up to four players allowed per bay. An experienced golfer can complete 18 holes in about one hour, while larger groups may reserve extra time. Clubs can be brought from home or borrowed from the facility.
Food and Beverage – The Grumpy Caddy Grille
Essex Indoor Golf Center features a full bar and restaurant, known as The Grumpy Caddy Grille, located just steps from the simulators. The 35-foot custom bar serves local microbrews, popular domestic and international beers, canned cocktails, and specialty drinks. The food menu includes items such as the Grumpy Cowboy Burger, Ben Hogan Wrap, BLT, jalapeño poppers, and loaded crispy fries or tots. Guests are asked not to bring outside food or beverages (except water).
Leagues, Trivia, and Events
The venue hosts regular golf leagues, Tuesday Night Trivia, and various themed entertainment nights. Beyond recreational play, the center is also a popular event space, offering more than 2,000 square feet of open area that can accommodate up to 75 guests. Each simulator bay has an individual sound system that syncs with personal playlists and includes 10’x20′ display screens for custom visuals or presentations.
