CaddyShack is a family-run pub on West Prairie Avenue in Coeur d’Alene that was built around indoor virtual golf. It opened on Groundhog Day 1998, the fourth generation of a local small-business family. It says it was the first to bring indoor virtual golf to North Idaho, and the long winters and the number of golfers in the area were the reason. The golf theme still runs through the place, down to a collection of nearly 500 golf towels from every state and many countries.
The simulators are the original draw. The food has grown around them, from panini in a tiny kitchen to a full menu of fish tacos, meatballs, salads, chili, shareables and a giant salted pretzel. The bar runs a Front 9 and Back 9 of taps, 18 in all, poured as pints, pitchers or the Looper, a 25-ounce frosted mug, plus wine and cocktails. Happy hour food and drinks, a patio and sports on the screens round it out. It stays smoke-free and family-friendly. Simulator time and rates are handled at the pub. Rates change, so confirm current pricing with the venue before you go.
Open 11am to 9pm Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday. Groups and parties are booked through the site. Wheelchair accessible entrance, parking, restroom and seating.
