Evolution Sportsplex is a multi-sport dome complex at I-75 and M-59 in Auburn Hills. Its golf side is an indoor driving range plus golf simulators inside the turf dome. Soccer, baseball, softball, football and lacrosse share the field, and three batting cages are open to teams and the public. The simulator area sits under the same roof, so it suits golfers who want to hit year-round without a golf-only room.
The simulators keep their own schedule and phone line, (248) 500-5295. Sim hours are 10am to 10pm Monday through Thursday, 10am to midnight Friday, 9am to midnight Saturday and 9am to 10pm Sunday. From May 1 the summer schedule is Tuesday through Sunday, 11am to 10pm, closed Monday. The dome itself runs around the clock for field rentals, so confirm simulator hours before you drive over.
Lessons are available with Bob Menzies, a PGA teaching professional with more than 30 years of coaching. He runs every session on a Foresight Sports GCQuad launch monitor with three high-speed HD cameras and V1 Sports video software, and the lesson video goes to your phone afterward. A full bar is available, and food is ordered from a scan-to-order menu. Two seating areas with HD TVs and free Wi-Fi give non-players a place to watch the game. Space in the building can be rented for events, parties, seminars and meetings.
