X-Golf Holland is a six-simulator X-Golf franchise on James Street in Holland, Michigan, on the west side of the Grand Rapids area. It is a walk-in golf lounge with a 1,500-square-foot bar, room for up to 86 guests, and a PGA instructor on staff. That covers a night out, a league night and a lesson equally well.
The six X-Golf simulators combine high-speed cameras, infrared lasers, impact sensors and gaming software to read the club and ball, and each bay seats up to six people. Booking is per simulator, per hour, so a group splits one rate.
Bay time is $50 an hour Monday through Thursday and $60 an hour Friday through Sunday. Seniors, active military, veterans and first responders pay $40 an hour Monday through Thursday from 9am to 4pm and $50 on Friday from 9am to 4pm. Book online or by phone; X-Golf rooms tend to sell out on weekends. Beginners can ask for a little extra setup time when they book, or start with a PGA teaching professional. From May 1 through August 31 the room runs on reservations only, and it may open or close outside its posted hours. Posted hours are Tuesday through Thursday noon to 8pm and Friday and Saturday 10am to 10pm, closed Sunday and Monday. Call ahead in summer.
The bar pours beer by the glass and on tap, cocktails and wine, and the kitchen does shareable bites, appetizers, snacks and pizzas. Free lot and street parking, Wi-Fi, and a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot and restroom are all in place, and children of all ages are welcome. Soft-spike golf shoes or clean sneakers are fine on the turf.
Lessons are with Jordan, a graduate of the Ferris State University golf management program with close to 15 years of coaching. A 60-minute game assessment is $125; lesson packages run $500 for five, $875 for ten and $1,600 for twenty 60-minute sessions, and improvement programs with practice time built in start at $195 a month. Winter X-Leagues run head-to-head, with summer leagues announced seasonally. Regripping is available on site, gift cards are sold online and in store, and the room hosts corporate events and birthday parties.
