TeeTime Indoor Golf at 3124 Glenview Rd publishes the lowest serious rate in the metro. A standard bay running Impact Vision is $18 an hour. A Pro bay on Trackman iO, the same unit tour players use, is $25. Both include up to three players, with a $5-an-hour add-on for four or five. Golf balls are included; bring your own clubs. It rates 4.9 from 203 reviews.

The whole place is self-serve. You book online, a link in your confirmation email or the app unlocks the door, and the lights and simulator turn on automatically at your start time. There is no front desk and no staff on site, which is exactly how it stays this cheap. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so a 5am session before the Edens fills up is a real option.

Split three ways, that is $6 a person for an hour of golf on real course data. Nothing else on this list touches that number.

Where to play indoor golf in the city: Bucktown, South Loop, West Loop

Five Iron Golf at 2131 N Elston Ave in Bucktown is the city’s most-reviewed simulator room, at 4.9 from 160 reviews. It runs Trackman bays with high-speed swing cameras and more than 200 courses, and it folds a bar, leagues, lessons and tournaments into one place. Rates shift by time of day, so check the booking page; weeknight leagues take the prime slots through winter.

Closer to the Loop, X-Golf South Loop at 1117 S Clinton St is under a mile from Willis Tower and rates 4.8 from 53 reviews. It runs the X-Golf system, hosts X League nights, and has a bar. If you work downtown and want to swing before the train, this is the nearest full room. Play18 Chicago at 17 N Wabash Ave (4.4 from 43 reviews) sits right in the Loop for the same reason.

The West Loop has gone a different direction: private clubs. Ace Golf Club at 219 N Justine St runs 12 simulators across two floors on a capped, application-only membership. Members get up to four hours of play a day. It holds a perfect 5.0 across 41 reviews. The pitch, in the club’s own words, is “no public simulator chaos.” Its founding tier is sold out and it lists only a handful of Tier II spots left. The Sim Club at 1507 S Michigan Ave (4.8 from 18) runs the same members-only model in the South Loop.

The Haven at 12317 S Harlem Ave in Palos Heights publishes a full rate card, which is rare enough to quote. It runs $37.50 an hour Monday through Thursday before 4pm, $45 after 4pm, and $50 an hour Friday afternoon through Sunday. Rates are per bay, not per person. It runs Foresight GC Hawk launch monitors, has food and drinks, and its leagues cost $50 a person to enter on top of bay time. It rates 4.8 from 107 reviews.

The Golf Facility at 19031 Old LaGrange Rd in Mokena holds a perfect 5.0 across 175 reviews. Eight Foresight bays, a 750-square-foot Puttview putting green, and 24-hour key-card access for members. Lessons run $75 an hour and putter fittings $100. Military, police and firefighters get 20% off memberships. Halfway House at 555 S York St in Elmhurst runs Full Swing units with an exclusive PGA course license, a junior league, and summer camps for kids, rating 4.8 from 116.

Memberships worth doing the math on

Three Chicago clubs publish membership numbers, and they tell you a lot about the market. 24Swing at 4740 W Peterson Ave in Sauganash is open 24 hours every day on Trackman. Its plans tier up: a $10-a-month Starter that is pay-as-you-go with league invites, a $150-a-month Scratch tier with four hours included and 10% off extra time, and household plans with eight hours a month. It rates 5.0 from 10 reviews.

X-Golf Schaumburg at 1100 American Ln lists winter memberships from $349 a month, or $999 for three months. Its summer deal is $450 for a single host, five hours a week for four months. The break-even is the same everywhere: if you play weekly from November through March, a membership beats hourly. If you play once a month with friends, book a bay and split it.

What indoor golf costs in Chicago

The published range is wide because the market is wide. TeeTime’s $18 self-serve hour is the floor. The Haven’s $37.50 to $50 is typical for a staffed suburban room with food. Downtown rooms and members clubs quote at booking or by application. Split a bay four ways and even the top of that range lands under $13 a person for an hour.
